Qsr-Pappu Chaiwalla, Pune

DESIGN BRIEF

An Indian brand inspired by our culture of drinking chai on the streets. Our client, Chef Rajnish Gandhi wanted to take this concept and make it with a Qsr space.

OUR APPROACH

The approach with the space was to accentuate the desi feel of Indian street architecture. Colours such as mustard, maroon and pastel green are inspired by the common colours found in everyday life. Traditional motifs such as rangoli patterns were transformed into wall decor elements. Furthermore, the larger than life prints of street art is very characteristic of the space. The furniture was inspired by replicating old chattia’s trunks used for storage and benches as seater fill up the mood of the space. Truly Indian at heart, the decor beautifully captures the ‘modern India chai adda.
